Weekend Tips to Simplify Your Life

Another day is a blessing. Spending your weekend with your family is love. It’s the best time to bond, re-connect and be energized again.
Here are some tips to simplify your life and enjoy the weekend.
- Get up in the morning and make your bed. Don’t forget to pray, smile, stretch and go to the bathroom if you need to.
- Assign or invite family members to help in meal preparation, cleaning the house and yard work.
- For weekly laundry schedule, appoint a family member to help in sorting clothes for washing, and later in folding and putting away clean clothes.
Once done, hang them up – in clusters, with upper body clothes on top rod, lower body clothes on lower rod, and jewelry in zipper type plastic bag hooked over the hanger.
- Plan and shop for your meals a week at a time. Write menu card, check your available stocks and ingredients. Be sure to buy the items that are not in your fridge and kitchen cabinet.
- While home, keep a big basket in a handy place, into which you can gather up whatever is left lying around at a moment’s notice, or at the end of the day. Have family members help put everything away before dinner or before bed.
- Before going to bed, make general plans for tomorrow. You may retain your initial plans, change or re-prioritize if need to.
- When evening comes, rest, enjoy and bond with your family. Don’t forget to be grateful for the day that you had.
